Delhi; 28 Nov 2024 ( PMI ): Maharashtra ‘caretaker’ Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday (November 28, 2024) night to thrash out a power-sharing pact in the state where the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance romped home to a landslide victory in State Assembly elections.
Mr. Shinde told reporters in Delhi that he would not be an obstacle to the government formation in the state and that he would abide by the decisions made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr. Shah. This cleared the decks for the BJP to have its nominee as the next Chief Minister in Maharashtra.
BJP President JP Nadda among other senior leaders, were present at the meeting. However, JP Nadda and senior NCP leader Praful Patel were seen leaving Amit Shah’s residence around midnight, indicating that the meeting may have ended, and the result would be announced soon.
