Hyderabad, Feb.26 (PMI): On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, Saivik temples in two Telugu States reverberated with the remembrance of Lord Shiva. The Devotees flocked to the temples from early morning of Wednesday to have a darshan. Srisailam, Srikalahasti, Kaleswaram, Vemulawada, Keesara and other temples were crowded with the devotees.
Vemulawada Rajanna temple buzzed with the chants of Lord Shiva by the devotees. The devotees made offerings to the Lord. Queues were lined up for the darshan. It took six hours for the darshan of the Lord. The priests of the temple performed special pujas to the lord in the morning. In the evening, there was a Mahalingaarchana programme by the Anuvanshika priests in the mandapam of the Lord. Mahanyasa Purvaka Ekadashi Rudraabhishekam will be performed to Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy during Lingodbhava at night.
Mahashivaratri celebrations were also seen in Kaleshwaram temple . Apart from Telangana, devotees from neighbouring Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh states flocked to Kaleshwaram. The Devotees took holy dips in the Triveni Sangamam of Godavari river. Special pujas were performed to Goddess Godavari. The devotees offered maredu dal to the Sri Kaleswara Mukteeswara Swamy deity of the temple . Abhishekams and special pujas were performed. Sri Shubhananda Mukteeswara Swamy Kalyanotsavam was held at 4.35 pm. Lingodbhava Puja was also held at 12 pm. The administration has made arrangements so that the devotees do not face any difficulties.
A large number of devotees flocked to Srisailam temple on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. The temple authorities performed nandi vahana seva to the presiding deity of the temple In the evening. At 10 p.m., rituals like Lingodbhavakala Mahanyasapurvaka Ekadasa Rudraabhishekam and Pagalankarana for Sri Swamiji were performed .. At 12 pm, The Mahashivarathri Brahmotsavam of Parvati Parameswara was performed. (PMI)
