Hyderabad, May 11 (PMI): Union Minister of state for home affairs G. Kishan Reddy today responded on the issue of the imposition of lockdown in Telangana state. He said that it was the prerogative of the state government to impose lockdown in the state. He made these remarks while talking to Media persons after flagging off a sanitizer vehicle at Warasiguda cross roads.
Speaking on the occasion he told the people that they should realise the fact the wearing of face masks for their protection and not for the protection of the police. He said that they had given complete freedom to all the state governments on the issue of the imposition of the lockdown . Noting that some state governments are imposing lockdowns to contain the Covid virus, he urged the people of the state and the country to extend their support to their governments. He made it clear that there is no link between the organisation of elections in five states of the country and second wave of the virus .
He said that it was the prerogative of the central election commission to hold the elections in any state of the country. He urged the people to break the chain of the virus following the guidelines of the state government. Commenting on the administration of the vaccine , He said that they were trying to import the vaccines from foreign countries apart from its production domestically. (PMI)
