Laws should be implemented strictly to prevent atrocities against women: Kavitha

Hyderabad, Feb.6 (Press media of india): The ruling TRS party MLC K. Kavitha today said that strict implementation of existing laws would alone prevent the ongoing atrocities against the women of the state. She alleged that although laws like Nirbhaya were not being implemented at anywhere in the state. She said that the women were facing 40 percent of violence in their homes.
She urged all to see women as women and called upon the women of the state to come on one platform and face their problems. She expressed her concern over the atrocities being committed on the women right from the stage of their conception. Stating that Hajipur incident has created a nationwide uproar , she praised  that the police  commissioner of Rachakonda had taken effective steps to prevent  such incidents. She made these remarks while addressing a gathering at the distribution of Sangamitra awards heldinRachakonda police commissionerate limits.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that the brain child of the chief minister of the state KCR She Teams were all over the state and added that the teams were discharging their duties in an effective manner.
The commissioner said that it was unfortunate that the atrocities against the women were still going on in the state even after enactments several effective laws. He also said that dowry harassment was not being stopped in the state as well while wondering if the country has attained freedom or not. (PMI)
