Hyderabad, Jan.7 (PMI): Former minister and BRS party working president KTR suffered a setback in the Telangana High Court today. The court dismissed KTR’s petition seeking quashing of the ACB case against him in the sensational formula e-car race case. The High Court, which agreed with the State government’s arguments, also quashed the interim order in the case preventing the police from arresting KTR.
In its verdict, the High Court said the rule of law applies to all without any exception. It also lifted the stay on KTR’s arrest. The ACB officials are likely to arrest KTR anytime soon.
Meanwhile, a large number of BRS party leaders reached KTR’s residence in the wake of the news of the possible arrest of KTR by the ACB. Senior party leader Harish Rao and other BRS leaders also reached KTR’s residence and discussed about the next course of action.
On the other hand, the ACB has stepped up its investigation in the formula e-car race case. The ACB officials have conducted searches at Greenco’s office in Madhapur. It is to be noted that the electoral bonds of Greenco’s subsidiaries have come to the fore in the formula e-car race case.
On October 25, 2022, an agreement was signed for the conduct of the Formula E-car race. Earlier, the ACB was focusing on deposit of Rs 41 crore from Greenco’s subsidiaries in the form of the electoral bonds in two tranches to the BRS party. (PMI)
