Hyderabad, 20 Dec 2024 (PMI): The Telangana High Court today granted relief to former minister and BRS party working president KT Rama Rao in connection with a case registered against him in the sensational Formula One e-car race scam case. It asked the ACB officials to not arrest KTR till the 30th of this month.
The court passed the order while hearing a lunch motion petition filed by KTR seeking quashing of the FIR registered against him by the ACB in the case. Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy, appearing for the State government, argued that interim orders should not be passed in the case as the preliminary investigation had already been completed.
Senior supreme court advocate Sundaram, Prabhakar Rao, and Gandra Mohan Rao appeared on behalf of KTR. They told the HC that sections invoked against KTR under the Prevention of Corruption Act did not apply to the case and sought quashing of the FIR. The bench heard the arguments from both sides. It made it clear that the investigation in the case registered by the ACB against KTR can be continued. The court directed the government to file a counter within 10 days. (PMI)
