KTR distributed aids to the disabled

Hyderabad, April 16 (PMI): State Industries Minister KTR today distributed different kinds of implements to the eligible disabled people at LB stadium in the city. He was the Chief Guest at an event held by state disabled welfare minister Koppula Eeswar. State ministers Sabita Indra Reddy and Ch. Malla Reddy and the director of the disabled welfare department Sailaja also  took part in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the life of a human being becomes successful only when he understood the problems of his neighbours. He said that the main objective of the state government was to help the poor and disabled  people of the state and added that they would feel happy only when they see smiles on the faces of the poor and the disabled of the state. He said that the state government had taken up several programs for the welfare of the disabled in Telangana. He said that they were spending Rs.24.38 crore for the distribution of the implements to the disabled on behalf of the state government. Reminding that they had made a challenge to design some inventions which would help the disabled four month back, he said that they had successfully designed the inventions and added that they were also distributing them.
KTR said that they were also distributing pre-metric and post-metric scholarships to the disabled and added that they were also operating skill development centers for them. Reminding that the disabled used to get Rs.500 as pensions in the state in the past, he said that they were now giving Rs. 3,016 as pensions to them. He said that they were allocating five percent of double bed room houses to the disabled. He said that they had issued orders to all the collectors and asked them to implement their orders in all the districts of the state. KTR said that they would provide four percent reservations to the disabled in the recruitment of the government jobs and added that they were giving Rs.1,25,145 to the disabled beneficiaries of Kalyana Laxmi and Shadi Mubarak schemes. He assured that he would strive for the solution of the problems of the disabled by taking them to the notice of the Chief Minister of the State KCR
