Hyderabad, Dec.14 (PMI): In the wake of his decision to concentrate on the national politics and form a federal front for bringing about qualitative changes in the country, TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today appointed his son Siricilla MLA K Tarakarama Rao as party working president.
The TRS supremo took this decision with a view to entrust the responsibility of party affairs to a most trusted and efficient person KTR since he would be preoccupied with the governance activities like expediting construction of irrigation projects and also to implement the electoral promises in letter and spirit. This decision will reduce the work burden on the Chief Minister and enable him to play a pivotal role in national politics as well as take forward the welfare and development programs executed by him in the infant State.
It may be mentioned here that the TRS was established by KCR to create a political platform for the separate Telangana movement and took it to a logical end and achieved separate statehood for Telangana. After doing so, KCR laid strong foundations for Bangaru (Golden) Telangana. With strong belief that the TRS alone could save Telangana, people in the State overwhelmingly supported the party and elected it with a landslide victory in the recent elections.
Responsibilities among others, enrolment of party membership, constructing party offices in districts and develop the party as the strongest one, have been entrusted to KTR. The party supremo was keen on developing the TRS as the largest party in the country. KTR, who successfully handled and performed the roles and responsibilities of both the party and government, has been entrusted with the new role of working president.
Chief Minister KCR strongly believes that the working style, the commitment, the direction and leadership qualities of KTR, will help in leading the TRS party efficiently and effectively by him in the days to come. He had already proved his mettle during the last Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections by leading the party soldiers to sweep the civic polls. The new post will pose many challenges to KTR as he was asked by the Chief Minister to increase party membership enrolment, construction of permanent buildings for party offices in the districts, besides a series of elections from Panchayat Raj to the Parliamentary polls in the next six months.
