Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by an IG level officer to investigate the murder of noted journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh. She was was short dead last night by unidentified person at her residence in Bengaluru.Speaking to media persons after a meeting with police top brass, Siddaramaiah said, the SIT team has been asked to submit its report at the earliest. He said, police protection will be given to progressive thinkers and activists who are vulnerable due to idealogical difference.
