Hyderabad, Alleging “scam” in Yadadri power project, Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today said there was something foul in the 24-hour power supply to the agriculture sector.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Komatireddy said he was ready for a debate on “power supply scam” at any place and also ready to quit politics if his allegations were found not correct. Alleging that the TRS government was siphoning of public money in the name of 24-hour power supply to farmers, he demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao prove his honesty.
Komatireddy said he was ready for an open debate on power scam with Transco CMD Prabhakar Rao. Stating that the government allotted Yadadri power project plant construction works worth Rs 32,000 crore on nomination basis, he said even Union Minister Piyush Goyal had expressed doubts on the issue and asked the State government not to construct new thermal power projects.
Alleging that the government invited Solar project tenders in a hurry, Komatireddy said the government invited tenders to produce 500 MW solar power. The Chief Minister allocated projects to civil contractors though the officials concerned opposed it, he remarked. The government will lose Rs 4,000 crore as the government signed agreements for 25 years, he said and demanded that the government scrap Solar tenders immediately.
