KCR ASSURES TO RESOLVE WAGES OF TEMPLE ARCHAKAS

Hyderabad,  Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao assured in the Telangana Assembly on Friday that the state government would take all steps to resolve the issue of wages and other problems concerning Archakas and other temple staff all over the state.

        Intervening during question hour in the House, the Chief Minister said that as pointed by the members all the Archakas in the temples were not being paid salaries through the government treasury. He also agreed that even Imams working in masjids need to be provided with respectable wages.

         The Chief Minister said that a meeting with the members would be convened before the end of the present Assembly session to resolve the issue of wages to the Archaks, Imams and others working in temples and masjids.

          Earlier replying to the main question on the issue, the Minister for Endowments Indrakaran Reddy said that the Chief Minister had initiated a number welfare measures for the benefit of Archaks working in temples all over the state. As a matter of fact a five-member sub-committee of ministers was to study and understand the issues concerning the Archakas. After discussing the issues with the Archakas, a report would be submitted to the government for resolving the same, he said and added that the government has also been paying special attention for the development of temples.
