Hyderabad, Nov.23 (PMI): TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha lashed out at the BJP government at the Centre for harassing the TRS leaders with investigation agencies.
Addressing the party cadre meeting at Nagireddypeta of Yellareddy constituency in Kamareddy district on Wednesday, Kavitha said the union government was targeting TRS Ministers, MLAs and leaders with Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax raids since the last one month.
TRS leaders who have a mass appeal, especially popular faces of ministers and Member of Parliament, are being harassed by the BJP, Kavitha said.
“The only policy that BJP preaches is “Ram-Ram Japna, Paraya Leader Apna”, where if the party fails in its horse trading attempts, it uses central agencies to harass leaders of opposition parties. Since BJP does not have any organisational strength in Telangana, the Union government is misusing it’s power and money to threaten leaders of other parties to join them,”Kavitha alleged.
She further accused the BJP of reducing the beneficiaries of PM Kisan Nidhi that was copied from KCR led TRS government’s Raithu Bandhu Scheme.
“When the scheme was introduced, there were nearly 13 crore beneficiaries and now, the number has come down to 3 crore, indicating the BJP’s plans,” she said.
The TRS MLC also asked why the BJP is approaching the court repeatedly with petitions to stall the investigation into the MLA poaching case, and why its leaders were not appearing before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) if they had nothing to fear. (PMI)
