Karimnagar PC pacifies student groups on Shathavahana University campus

Karimnagar,  Karimnagar Police Commissioner Kamalasan Reddy today exhorted students not to spoil their future with needless confrontations. He visited Shathavahana University in the wake of ongoing confrontation between two student unions here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamalasan Reddy said while the Left Wing and Dalit students set “Manu Dharma Shashtram” book afire, the ABVP students questioned their action leading to violent confrontation. However, no student was injured, he said, adding that police were investigating the incident.

On Monday morning, tension erupted in the Shathavahana University when the students of both the ABVP and Bahujana Student Organization came face to face and hurled stones at each other. Meanwhile, BJP activists rushed to the University in support of the ABVP and stone pelting took place. On receipt of the information, the Police Commissioner visited the Campus and brought the situation under control.
