Justice P. Sheyam Koshy Holds High-Level Meeting Ahead of National Lok Adalat

Hyderabad, December 7 (PMI NEWS): Justice P. Sheyam Koshy of the Telangana High Court, who is also the Executive Chairman of the Telangana State Legal Services Authority, held a high-level review meeting in connection with the proposed National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on December 21.

The meeting was attended by the Director General of Police, the Police Commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), the Commissioner of Excise, the Director of Prosecution and senior officials of the RTC. During the meeting, strategies for the large-scale disposal of pending cases through the Lok Adalat were discussed in detail.

It was decided that criminal compoundable cases, excise cases, RTC-related cases, cheque bounce cases and other matters would be amicably settled through the National Lok Adalat. Justice P. Sheyam Koshy appealed to all government departments to extend full cooperation to ensure the settlement of the maximum number of cases, stating that this would significantly reduce the burden on regular courts.

He specifically directed the Excise Commissioner to ensure that the highest possible number of liquor-related pending cases are presented before the Lok Adalat for disposal. Director General of Police Shivdhar Reddy assured full cooperation from the police department in settling criminal compoundable cases and informed that necessary instructions have already been issued to all police officers in this regard.

Additional DGP (Law & Order) Mahesh Bhagwat, Additional DGP (CID) Ms. Charu Sinha, the Commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda, Member Secretary of the Legal Services Authority C.H.
