J&K: Two terrorists killed in encounter near CRPF HQs in Karan Nagar

Both the terrorists who were holed up near CRPF headquarters in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar city, have been killed in an encounter with the security forces.
 
The operation to flush out the terrorists entered its final stage Tuesday morning. Mopping operation is underway.
 
CRPF spokesman told AIR that both the terrorists who had taken refuge in the building in the periphery of 23rd Bn CRPF Headquarters, have been killed.
 
The operation entered the second day on Tuesday after an overnight lull.
 
Two heavily armed LeT terrorists failed to sneak into the CRPF headquarters in Karan Nagar area in wee hours on Monday due to alertness of the Camp Gate Guard.
 
The terrorists fled and took positions in under construction concrete building in the periphery of the camp.
 
One CRPF constable Mujahid Khan lost his life in the initial phase of the anti-terrorist operation on Monday.
 
A J&K police cop also sustained injuries. Authorities have imposed strict restrictions under Section 144 in old city areas since Tuesday morning.
 
Besides, the whole Karan Nagar area and its surroundings are already under tight cordon.
