In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Budgam police, 53 RR and 153 Bn CRPF during a joint search operation yesterday evening arrested one top terror associate of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) namely Zahoor Wani from Wani Mohala Arizal under Police Station Khansaib in Budgam district. On his disclosure, a hideout was also discovered which was used by terrorists to take shelter. From the hideout, various incriminating material, arms and ammunition were recovered.
Senior Superintendent of Police Budgam Amod Ashok Nagpuri said that during further investigation, four other terror associates, all residents of Khansaib, were also arrested. They were involved in providing logistic support and shelter to LeT terrorists. This group was active in the area for the last few months. Case under relevant provisions of law has been registered in police station Khansaib and investigation in the matter has been initiated.
