Jishnu Dev Varma, Sridhar Babu laud women entrepreneurs at WE Hub

Hyderabad, Feb.3 (PMI): Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Minister for IT and Industries D. Shridhar Babu on Monday visited WE Hub, which is India’s first state-led nodal organisation for women entrepreneurs.

Their visit marks a milestone in Telangana’s unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that empowers women to lead and play a vital role in contributing to the state and nation’s economy.

WE Hub is dedicated to nurturing women-led enterprises in both urban and rural landscapes, and has been instrumental in creating an environment where women entrepreneurs can thrive, access resources, and build transformative businesses.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma emphasised the importance of women’s empowerment for building a resilient society.

“Empowering women is crucial for a sustainable future. The Telangana government is committed to providing equal opportunities and fostering an environment for their success. Women entrepreneurs are key drivers of economic growth and vital to the state’s progress,” he said.

Minister Sridhar Babu has emphasised the critical role of government schemes in empowering women, particularly from rural areas.

“Telangana has led the way in supporting women entrepreneurs, and WE Hub reflects this commitment. Through initiatives like the Mahila Shakti and Mahalaxmi schemes, along with the Skill University, we are equipping women with the tools they need to turn their ideas into successful businesses. Education, skill development, and mentorship are essential to building a thriving ecosystem, and we are especially focused on empowering women from Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions, who are making significant contributions to the future of our state and beyond,” he said.

Sita Pallacholla, CEO of WE Hub, also shared her thoughts during the event. “As India’s first state-led nodal organization dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs, we carry a great responsibility. We measure our success through the success stories of the women we serve, ensuring that our efforts truly reach every woman, whether in urban areas or the remotest parts of Telangana. This is not just a promise, but a commitment to empowering women across the state,”she said.

During the visit, women entrepreneurs incubated at WE Hub had the opportunity to present their innovative products and ideas to the Governor and the Minister.

The exhibition highlighted a wide range of businesses, from tech startups to handcrafted goods, showcasing the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of women across Telangana.

Entrepreneurs traveled from as far as Manthani, illustrating the far-reaching impact of WE Hub’s initiatives in bridging the gap between rural and urban areas.

The Governor and Minister engaged with the entrepreneurs, offering support and encouragement to help foster a more inclusive ecosystem for women in business. (PMI)
