Hyderabad, Digambar Jains today celebrated Mahaveer Jayanti with reverence and respect to their last Tirthankar. Majestic chariot processions were taken out across the city with the images followed by thousands of devotees while chanting prayers, live orchestra and music. The procession began from Begum Baazar Jain Mandir and culminated at Agapura Jain Mandir.
Thousands of people joined the procession which was conducted under the guidance of Shri Digambar Jain Sanstha. After reaching Agapura Jain Mandir, ceremonial bath was performed to the deity of Mahaveer Bhagwan. The Jain temples were colourfully decorated with flags to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Mahaveera, Lokender Jain, PRO of Shri Digambar Jain Sanstha has said.
