Hyderabad, Nov.2 (PMI): The IT raids ahead of the Assembly elections in Telangana are creating a stir. On Thursday morning, the IT officials conducted raids at several locations in Hyderabad. The raids were made at the residence of Congress leader Parijatha Narasimha Reddy in Balapur. Parijata, who is the Mayor of Badangpet, had expected a ticket from the Congress party from the Maheshwaram assembly constituency.
Similarly, the IT officials conducted searches at the residence of Kichchennagari Lakshma Reddy, who is the Congress party candidate from Maheshwaram constituency near Shamshabad. The raids have been continuously held since 5 am. Parijatham Narasimha Reddy is in Tirupati and her husband Narasimha Reddy is in Delhi. It is learnt that 10 to 15 teams had conducted the searches at the residences of Parijatha Narasimha Reddy’s family members and relatives.
Searches were conducted at the house of Vangate Lakshma Reddy, who bought the Ganesh laddu at an auction in Balapur. The raids were held at the house of Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s brother-in-law and real estate businessman Giridhar Reddy at Kokapet. It is learnt that searches were conducted at the residences of several political leaders of the State. According to reports, the searches were conducted after receiving information that a large amount of unauthorised amount of money and jewellery was stashed in the houses of the leaders.
Meanwhile, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that the BJP leadership along with the IT officials were searching the houses of their party leaders for benefiting the ruling BRS party. On June 14 this year, IT officials conducted searches at the homes of BRS MLA Paila Shekhar Reddy. Searches were conducted in 15 companies on the suspicion that Paila Shekhar Reddy had made investments. The IT officials suspect that Payla Shekhar Reddy has shares in many real estate companies.
On October 5 this year, IT officials conducted searches at the residence of Hyderabad Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath’s brother. On May 2 this year, IT officials conducted searches in several prominent garment shops in Hyderabad. Besides Hyderabad, the IT officials also conducted searches in Vijayawada. (PMI)
