Israeli air strikes hit Yemen & Lebanon as dozens more killed

12-01-2025

GAZA/ SANA’A: Israel’s military said it attacked sites in Yemen controlled by Houthi fighters, including a power station near the capital Sanaa, and the ports of Hodeidah and Ras Isa.

Several people have been killed in an Israeli air strike in Lebanon’s south with Israel’s military saying later that it was still “committed to the understanding of the ceasefire” with Lebanon.

Doctors Without Borders, known by its French acronym MSF, warns of a “catastrophic situation” for patients as Gaza’s hospitals run out of fuel for power generators.

At least 21 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza since dawn on Friday, medical sources tell Al Jazeera.

Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed at least 46,006 Palestinians and wounded 109,378 since October 7, 2023. At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks that day and more than 200 were taken captive.

Video footage shared online by the Quds News Network shows an Israeli soldier standing in a ruined landscape, making a barking noise to call stray dogs that are now said to roam in hungry packs across the war-torn Palestinian territory.

The soldier laughs as he is answered by a chorus of stray dogs who have been left behind in the rubble of Gaza after their owners were either killed or had fled.

The Yemen-based Houthi group said military forces from the United States and the United Kingdom carried out a series of strikes on locations across the capital Sanaa on Friday.

The same day, the Israeli military also conducted attacks across the country, saying it was targeting Houthi military infrastructure.

Video uploaded to social media has caught the moment Palestinian freelance journalist Saed Nabhan was shot and killed on Friday by Israeli forces.

Initial reports indicate Nabhan was shot by an Israeli sniper while among a group of journalists covering the advance of Israel’s military around Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Journalist Sanad agency verified the footage that captures the moment where rifle fire can be heard, and those present running for their lives.

Nabhan is seen falling to the ground, injured, as another man attempts to help him up. Nabhan does not respond.

More than 200 journalists have been killed in Gaza since the war began on October 7, 2023. Media workers in Gaza are facing what journalist watchdog organizations say is the deadliest war against their profession in history.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa and local media sources report the following Israeli military attacks in northern Gaza on Friday;

The Israeli military has bombed the Abu al-Auf building near the Candle Mosque in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, killing and injuring “a number” of Palestinians.

Israeli warplanes also bombed a residential building belonging to the Tafesh family in Zeitoun, killing at least one person and injuring three others.

Israeli forces have struck an apartment building near “al-Kanz” mosque in the Remal neighborhood, west of Gaza City, killing three and injuring 10.

Palestinian media reports children among the injured in an Israeli strike on a house near the Omari Mosque, east of Gaza City.

The Israeli military has also carried out strikes and raids on Gaza City’s western suburbs.

Israeli settlers have set fire to farmland and buildings and written racist slogans in the village of Khirbet Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah. (Int’l Monitoring Desk)
