IRCTC Observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2025

 “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility”

New Delhi, October 29 (NajafAli  Shoukat-PMI): The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from October 27 to November 2, 2025, under the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The observance aims to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability across the organization and among the public.

This year’s theme, “सतर्कता: हमारी साझा जिम्मेदारी” (Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility), underscores the importance of collective effort in combating corruption and fostering ethical conduct in all spheres of life.

As part of the observance, citizens have been encouraged to take the Integrity Pledge by visiting https://pledge.cvc.nic.in/. The pledge represents a personal commitment to uphold honesty, transparency, and zero tolerance towards corruption. Upon completion, participants can download a Certificate of Commitment from the same portal.

To strengthen vigilance measures and prevent fraudulent activities, the IRCTC Vigilance Department has issued important advisories on e-ticketing and e-catering practices, urging passengers to follow official procedures and avoid unauthorized channels.

E-Ticketing Guidelines

Passengers are advised to create their IRCTC accounts with accurate personal details including name, address, mobile number, and email ID.
Starting July 1, 2025, Aadhaar authentication will be mandatory for booking Tatkal tickets, while from October 12, 2025, it will also be required for reserved general ticket bookings during the first 30 minutes of ticket availability.

Passengers are requested to book tickets only through authorized IRCTC agents and to always collect a receipt showing full payment. Buying or selling e-tickets generated through personal user IDs is strictly prohibited under Section 143 of the Indian Railways Act, 1989, and such tickets may be canceled.

Any complaints regarding overcharging or irregularities by authorized agents can be lodged by emailing agentcomplaint@irctc.com, along with a copy of the e-ticket and payment receipt.

E-Catering Guidelines

For meal bookings, passengers should use only official IRCTC platforms:
📞 Helpline number 1323
📱 Mobile application “Food on Track.”

Each valid order will carry an IRCTC order number, and passengers are reminded to always ask for a bill, as per the guideline: “No Bill – The Food is Free.”
The public has also been cautioned against using any unauthorized websites or mobile apps for food booking, as IRCTC’s official platform is the sole authorized source.

In its statement, the Vigilance Department of IRCTC emphasized that vigilance is not merely an administrative function but a shared civic duty. It called upon employees and citizens alike to work together toward a corruption-free, transparent, and responsible system. (pressmediaofindia.com)
