Interstate drug peddling racket busted, two held’ CP Rachakoda G. Sudheer Babu, IPS

 Hyderabad’22 July'( Shoukat-PMI) On credible information, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), LB Nagar Zone team along with Jawahar Nagar police busted drug racket by apprehending two interstate drug peddlers.

Police said the accused were identified as Oma Ram alias Om Prakash, carpenter of Cherai village, Osian Tehsil, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He is consumer, transporter and peddler).
Earlier, he was involved in similar case (Opium, Poppy Straw) vide Cr. No. 207/2015 U/Sec. 8/18, 29 of NDPS Act of Osian Police Station, Jodhpur, Rajasthan State; Sanwala Ram, of Comparative Colony, Chanda Nagar, Lingampally and native of Rangala, Jalore, Rajasthan (Consumer/Peddler); Vikas alias Mukesh, farmer of Piplia Mandi, Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh, peddler absconding.

The police seized 40 kg Poppy Straw, 10 gram MDMA, net cash of Rs10,000/-, three Mobile Phones, one Wi-Fi Dongle. Total seized drug worth about Rs 45Lakh.

On July 21 evening hours, on a tip- off, the SOT LB Nagar team along with Jawahar Nagar police apprehended the accused near Malkaram Village outskirts heading towards Thimmaipally (V), Keesara under the limits of Jawahar Nagar police station and seized 40 kg of Poppy Straw, 10 gram of MDMA, net cash Rs 10,000/-, three Mobile Phones and other incriminating material from their possession. Efforts are afoot to apprehend the absconding accused.

 

The police appealed to the people and students that procuring, selling, transporting and consumption of the banned Narcotics substances and drugs is a crime punishable for imprisonment for 10 years and also death, according to Section 31 A of the NDPS Act. They also request the society to help police in curbing the menace.

The arrests were made under the direct supervision of G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda under guidance of K. Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, LB Nagar-Maheshwaram and SOT andJawahar Nagar police personnel(PMI)
