Hyderabad, Oct.26 ( Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI): Nallu Indrasena Reddy was sworn in as Governor of Tripura State on Thursday morning in Agartala. Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh administered the oath of office and secrecy to Reddy.
The Governor-designate couple reached Agartala on Wednesday. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, his cabinet colleagues, MLAs, MPs, senior IAS and IPS officers received the couple at the Agartala airport. A “guard-of-honour” was held there in the honour of the new Governor. On the occasion, Nallu Indrasena Reddy thanked the President of India, the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister for his appointment. The Governor couple arrived at the Raj Bhavan from the airport.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Indrasena Reddy met Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and senior officials at Raj Bhavan. Dr Manik Saha explained about various schemes and programmes being implemented in the State during the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Indrasena Reddy called upon the officials to maintain transparency, accountability and work towards empowering even ordinary citizens. On the occasion, many people’s representatives and leaders congratulated the Governor. Fans from the Telugu States felicitated Indrasena Reddy with garlands. Later, the Governor couple held a “High Tea” at the Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, fellow ministers, officials, judges and media personnel were present on the occasion.
