Immersion Must Be Peaceful: Orders by Hyderabad Police Commissioner

Hyderabad, September 1 (Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI): Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has directed officials to ensure that Ganesh idol immersions are conducted smoothly and peacefully without any disturbances. He instructed that daily reviews be held regarding the security arrangements.

On Monday, the Commissioner held a meeting with law and order and traffic officials of various zones. During the meeting, he issued directions on the safety measures to be implemented for the immersion process. He emphasized that public safety should be the top priority and that devotees must not face any inconvenience.

C.V. Anand stated that local police, She Teams, and volunteers should maintain constant vigilance to prevent antisocial activities such as pickpocketing, eve-teasing, and chain snatching. He also instructed that organizers and volunteers must remain at idol locations during the night, and a proper action plan should be prepared to ensure idols are immersed quickly.

The Commissioner advised Ganesh pandal organizers to begin immersion at the earliest possible time and return home safely after completing the process.

The review meeting was held at Madhuranagar Police Station, attended by West Zone DCP Vijay Kumar, SB DCP Apoorva Rao, Traffic DCP Rahul Hegde, Task Force Additional DCP Iqbal Siddiqui, and other officials.

11,526 Idols in the City

Within the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate limits, a total of 11,724 applications were received for Ganesh idols, out of which permission was granted for 11,526 idols, police said. They also mentioned that all idols have been geo-tagged.

  • West Zone – 1,808

  • South West Zone – 1,750

  • South Zone – 1,462

  • South East Zone – 1,216

  • Central Zone – 1,182

Police further stated that some idols were not registered with them, and extra precautions will be taken during their immersion.(pressmediaofindia.com)
