Heavy rain alert issued for Hyderabad and Telangana districts
Hyderabad, October 6(PMI) The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Hyderabad and several Telangana districts, warning of heavy rainfall on Monday. The forecast indicates that isolated areas in Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Rangareddy, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, and Narayanpet may experience heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph.
The IMD has further predicted light to moderate rainfall across the state between October 7 and 10, with thunderstorms likely in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Mulugu, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.
Meanwhile, heavy downpours lashed Hyderabad and surrounding areas early Sunday morning, leading to waterlogging in several low-lying localities. Officials attributed the rain to cumulonimbus cloud formations. Areas such as Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Filmnagar, Yousufguda, Manikonda, Abids, Khairatabad, Panjagutta, and Lakdikapool witnessed intense rainfall that disrupted traffic and normal life.
