Kothagudem, May.4 (PMI): Telangana Jana Samithi ( TJS) president Prof. Kodandaram said if the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) wins again at the Centre, the democracy will be defeated in the country.
Addressing the Jana Jatara Sabha at Kothagudem on Saturday, Kodandaram criticised the BJP government at the Centre for implementing anti-people policies and causing the prices of essential commodities double during the last ten years.
“The prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas have increased hugely. Due to increase in prices, farmers are unable to do agriculture,” he pointed out.
“Earlier, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited ( SCCL) was run by over 1.50 lakh workers. Unfortunately, now it has been reduced to 50,000 workers. The contract system has been introduced by weakening the organisation,” Kodandaram said.
He also expressed concern over auction of coal mines and hand over of mines to the corporates during the tenure of Modi government.
The TJS president further stated that the gap between the rich and the poor has increased unprecedently and the common people are not getting much benefits from the Modi government. (PMI)
