Nizamabad, Jan.23 (PMI): Nizamabad MP D. Aravind today claimed that he had much more than his promise of establishment of a turmeric board in the district. He also claimed that he had worked hard to fulfil all his election promises and added that he had come before the farmers with confidence as he solved many of their problems. He made these remarks while addressing a meeting of turmeric farmers at Choutapally.
Speaking on the occasion he said that he had held all kinds of discussions with central government to solve the problems of the turmeric farmers of the district. He said that he had established the spices regional extension center and claimed that the center was far better than the turmeric board. The MP said that the budget for the turmeric was increased from ₹2 crore to ₹30 crore now.
He also said that the exports of the turmeric had gone up from 69,000 tonnes of the last year to 90,000 tonnes this year. He said that the total number of boilers which used to 7 in the district three years back had now gone up to 150 boilers now. The MP claimed that they had turned Nizamabad into a turmeric hub.
