Hyderabad Woman Arrested for Murdering Relative Over Financial Dispute in Saidabad

 Hyderabad, Sept 19, (PMI): Saidabad Police have apprehended Smt. Nenavath Manga, 48, for the murder of her relative Sri Katroth Shivaiah, 70, and theft of his silver ornaments.

According to police, the deceased was found dead in his under-construction house in Vishnu Nagar on September 15, 2025, with strangulation marks. His elder daughter lodged a complaint, prompting registration of Cr. No. 300/2025 U/s 103(1), 309(6) BNS.

Investigation revealed that the accused, the niece-in-law of the deceased’s wife, had disputes with the family over incomplete house construction, causing financial losses of ₹8.25 lakhs. She also faced personal financial pressures and had developed an illicit relationship with the contractor involved.

Police said the accused suffocated the deceased with a pillow and strangled him with a plastic binding thread on the night of September 14–15, 2025. She then stole two silver kadiyalu and one silver waist chain (weighing about 30 tulas) and hid them at her residence.

The accused was arrested on September 18, 2025, and the stolen ornaments were recovered. She has been remanded to judicial custody.
