Hyderabad Traffic Police Book 460 Drunk Driving Cases in Two-Day Special Drive

Hyderabad-Dec 14 (PMI) The Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a two-day special drive against drunken driving on December 12 and 13, 2025, as part of efforts to enhance road safety in the city. During the drive, a total of 460 motorists were caught driving under the influence of alcohol.

Among those booked, 350 were two-wheeler riders, 25 were three-wheeler drivers, and 85 were drivers of four-wheelers and other vehicles. Police said breath analyser tests revealed varying blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels among the offenders.

As per official data, 98 cases were booked with BAC levels between 30 and 50, 185 cases between 51 and 100, 99 cases between 101 and 150, 48 cases between 151 and 200, 16 cases between 201 and 250, 10 cases between 251 and 300, and four cases with BAC levels above 300.

D. Joel Davis, IPS, said the Traffic Police reiterated that there would be zero tolerance towards drunk driving violations and announced that such special enforcement drives would continue.
