Hyderabad, November 28, (PMI NEWS_Shoukat) Under the supervision of Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, the Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes) Sri M. Srinivasulu, IPS, conducted a comprehensive review meeting of the Women Safety Wing (WSW) of Hyderabad City Police.
The review meeting was attended by Dr. Lavanya N.J.P., DCP, Women Safety Wing, along with officers from all sub-units, including:

The meeting was held at the Old CP Office Auditorium, Basheerbagh.
During the review, officials presented detailed progress on various women and child safety initiatives. The Seven Women Police Stations submitted data on FIRs registered between 2023 and 2025, pending investigation (UI) cases from 2019 to 2025, as well as the status of NBWs, LOCs, and PT warrants. The Additional CP issued strict instructions for timely follow-up and effective disposal of all pending cases, including warrants and LOCs.
The SHE Teams briefed the officers on petitions received and disposed of, red-handed cases, awareness programmes, and counselling activities for both major and minor offenders. Appreciating their efforts, the Addl. CP directed the teams to conduct large-scale awareness programmes with active involvement of family members, especially in cases involving minors, and closely monitor behavioural changes.
The Bharosa Centre presented updates on POCSO cases, rape cases, missing children and other matters, highlighting the centre’s coordinated support through counselling, legal aid, and victim assistance.
The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) briefed the officials on trafficking raids conducted during 2025, related FIR progress, and rescue operations.
The Juvenile Bureau (JB) shared progress on initiatives such as Operation Smile and Operation Muskaan, aimed at addressing child-related offences. The Addl. CP instructed the unit to intensify efforts against child abuse and register FIRs against parents forcing children to beg on public streets.
Appreciating the overall functioning of the Women Safety Wing, Sri M. Srinivasulu, IPS, assured full administrative and infrastructural support to further strengthen the mechanisms for women and child safety in Hyderabad. (pressmediaofindia)
