Hyderabad, November 22,(Shoukat-PMINEWS) Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sri V. C. Sajjanar, IPS, has called on citizens to remain vigilant against cyber crimes, warning that “fear and greed of the public are becoming the investment for cyber criminals.”
Speaking at the ‘Jagrut Hyderabad – Surakshit Hyderabad’ awareness program held at Charminar, he distributed pamphlets on cybercrime prevention, flagged off a rally from Charminar to Madina, and administered the Cyber Pledge to participants.
Sri Sajjanar said the initiative, conducted every Tuesday and Saturday, involves police officials visiting homes to educate citizens about online safety. He urged families to create a “Cyber Simba” in every household to safeguard against fraud.
He warned against sharing private photos, personal details, OTPs, and passwords, and stressed the importance of monitoring children and senior citizens for potential scams. He advised victims to report incidents immediately via Helpline 1930 or www.cybercrime.gov.in, as timely action can help recover lost money.
The program saw participation from senior police officials including Additional CP Crime and SIT Sri M. Srinivas IPS, South Zone Additional DCP Sri. M. Majid, and several ACPs.(pressmediaofindia.com)
