Hyderabad, Oct. 17 (Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI): The newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, visited the historic Kotwal House at Purani Haveli on Friday and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening community policing and improving police accessibility for residents of the Old City.
During the visit, the Commissioner personally interacted with citizens and complainants, listened to their grievances, and directed officials to take immediate action on the issues raised.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Sajjanar described Kotwal House as a symbol of Hyderabad’s policing heritage, noting that it served as the headquarters of Hyderabad City Police from 1920 to 2002. “It is heartening to see this heritage structure beautifully restored and preserved for future generations,” he said, commending those involved in its conservation.
The Commissioner also announced that he would be available at Kotwal House every Friday to meet residents of the Old City in person.
“This initiative is aimed at building stronger community relations and ensuring that citizens’ concerns are resolved without delay. The Police Department is committed to maintaining peace and order across Hyderabad. I urge citizens to approach the police freely and join hands with us to create a safe and crime-free city,” he said.
Senior officers, including Smt. K. Apoorva Rao, IPS (DCP–Special Branch) and Smt. Sneha Mehra, IPS (DCP–South Zone), along with other officials, accompanied the Commissioner during the visit.(pressmediaofindia.com)
