Hyderabad / May 21 (Shoukat–PMI): City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand today inaugurated services at the newly established 72nd police station of the city — Toli Chowki Police Station — by issuing the first FIR. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized that every police station in the city must treat complainants with respect and that efforts should be made to build 100% better relationships with them.
Senior officers of the South West Zone Police, including Mateen Ali Shah Qadri and others, were present at the occasion. Commissioner C.V. Anand stated that police would maintain friendly and respectful relations with law-abiding citizens, but those involved in criminal activities would be dealt with strictly.
He highlighted that residents in this area were facing difficulties reaching the police stations of Golconda, Film Nagar, and Mehdipatnam. After the City Police recommended the establishment of a new station, the government approved the proposal under G.O. 57, and a police station has now been opened in a rented building in the Aziz Bagh area.
The formal inauguration of the Toli Chowki Police Station will be carried out by State Minister and In-charge Minister for Hyderabad, Ponnam Prabhakar.
Commissioner Anand further noted that two years ago, the City Police underwent a reorganization, during which 71 out of the planned 60 police stations were formed, and two new zones — South East and East — were created. Following recommendations, action was taken to establish a police station in the Toli Chowki area.
He informed that around 20 to 30 colonies and surrounding areas have been brought under the jurisdiction of the new station. The Toli Chowki Police Station has been allocated 2 Inspectors, 5 Sub-Inspectors, and 36 Constables, including Head Constables and ASIs (Assistant Sub-Inspectors). The jurisdiction is divided into four sectors.
Considering the area’s traffic issues, plans are underway to establish a dedicated Traffic Division and Police Station in the region.
Present on the occasion were South West Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Chandramohan, Additional DCP Iqbal Siddiqui, ACP Syed Fayaz, Inspector Ramesh Naik, and others.
