Hyderabad, Sept. 3(Shoukat-PMI)): Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, IPS, on Tuesday reviewed security arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh idol immersion with officials of the East Zone and South East Zone at the East Zone DCP office, Amberpet.
During the meeting, Mr. Anand instructed officials to ensure foolproof arrangements for maintaining law and order during the festivities and to facilitate smooth and timely immersion of idols. Stressing the need for constant vigilance, he directed police and volunteers to remain alert to prevent incidents such as the theft of laddus from idols. He also called for close monitoring of troublemakers and rowdy sheeters and said idol vehicles from neighboring commissionerates, including Rachakonda, should be provided with police escorts.
He further advised that organizers and volunteers must remain with the idols during nighttime to avoid any lapses. The meeting also reviewed shortcomings noticed in previous immersions and finalized a plan of action for speedy idol immersion.
