Hyderabad Police Bust Illegal Samosa Unit in Jiyaguda, Stock Worth ₹5 Lakh Seized

Hyderabad, March 21 (PMI) In a major crackdown on unsafe food practices, Hyderabad Police raided an illegal food manufacturing unit in Jiyaguda and uncovered large-scale preparation of samosas under unhygienic conditions.

The raid was carried out on Friday evening by the food safety wing (H-FAST) along with Kulsumpura Police. Officials found that the unit was operating without the necessary licences and was using substandard and stale ingredients.

According to police, the owner, Abdul Rasheed (73), was taken into custody. He was allegedly running the unit with the help of a few workers in highly unhygienic surroundings, repeatedly using cooking oil and spoiled food items, posing serious health risks to consumers.

During the operation, authorities seized food stock and raw materials worth approximately ₹5 lakh. The confiscated items included hundreds of prepared samosas, spoiled eggs, and bulk ingredients. Cooking and processing equipment used in the unit were also taken into custody.

Police said a case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. (pressmediaofindia.com)
