Hyderabad, October 15,(PMI) 2025: In a major drug bust, the Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone team, in coordination with Afzalgunj Police, arrested two hash oil peddlers and three consumers in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Police seized 1.35 kilograms of hash oil, ₹10,000 in cash, two mobile phones, and a bag, with the total seizure valued at around ₹7 lakh.
According to officials, the accused peddlers — Kethuboina Sanjay Kumar (31), a real estate businessman, and Abba Naganna (25), a painter, both residents of Gajularamaram in Medchal district — had been consuming narcotics and decided to make money by selling hash oil in bulk. They reportedly procured the substance through known contacts (currently absconding), repackaged it into 5-gram containers, and sold it at ₹500 per gram across Hyderabad.
The arrested consumers were identified as K. Mahesh (31), Shaik Irfan (35), and K. Lokesh (19), all residents of Medchal district.
Police said that on October 14, based on a tip-off, the Task Force team conducted a raid near CBS, Gowliguda, where the accused were about to deliver the contraband to their customers. The team nabbed all five individuals and seized the drugs from their possession.
A case has been registered under Cr. No. 413/2025, Sections 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act, at Afzalgunj Police Station.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Sri U. Chandra Shekar, Inspector of Police, East Zone Task Force, by Sub-Inspectors M. Anantha Chary, P. Nagaraju, and S. Karunakar Reddy, along with Afzalgunj Police personnel.
