Hyderabad: As part of the preparations for the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election, GHMC Commissioner and Hyderabad District Election Officer (DEO) R.V. Karnan convened a meeting with representatives of all political parties in Telangana to review the Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls for the constituency..
The integrated draft rolls, published on September 2, cover 407 polling stations spread across 139 locations. Copies have been given to all parties and are also available on the CEO-TS and GHMC websites. Karnan urged political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) at every polling station to ensure transparency during the claims and objections period, which runs until September 17.
He further appealed to citizens who turned 18 on or before July 1, 2025, to register as voters before the deadline. According to GHMC, a total of 2,855 claims and objections were received up to September 7 through various forms, of which over 8.62% have already been cleared.
The Commissioner also highlighted plans to use GIS-based mapping in the Hyderabad district to strengthen the electoral process and sought full cooperation from political parties in preparing the final rolls for the upcoming by-election.(pressmediaofindia.com)
