Hyderabad CP V C Sajjanar IPS Emphasizes Core Policing; Warns of Strict Action if Police Image Tarnished

Hyderabad, Nov. 5 (PMI–Shoukat): Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, has stressed the importance of Basic and Core Policing to effectively control crime and maintain public order. He warned that any negligence or behavior that damages the image and reputation of the police system will invite strict disciplinary action.

Speaking at a review meeting with senior officers and Station House Officers (SHOs) held on Wednesday at the TGICCC Auditorium in Banjara Hills, the Commissioner urged officers to carry out their duties with dedication, commitment, and integrity.

“Negligence in the discharge of duty will not be tolerated. Every police officer must perform their responsibilities with 100% discipline and devotion,” the CP cautioned.

During the meeting, CP Sajjanar made a PowerPoint presentation outlining key priority areas, including Law and Order Maintenance, Crime Control and Investigation, Community Engagement, Technology Adoption, and Human Resource Management. He directed all officers to focus on efficient policing aimed at safeguarding the public and preserving law and order.

Sajjanar emphasized that SHOs will be held fully accountable for incidents occurring within their respective jurisdictions. He noted that a few cases of negligence had come to his notice and were being reinvestigated.

“Policing is a challenging job. Do not treat any case as routine — even minor crimes must be investigated thoroughly. Ignoring small offences could lead to major crimes later,” he said, adding that each case should be technically examined from all possible angles.

Highlighting the growing role of technology, the Commissioner said the Hyderabad City Police is exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to expedite investigations and improve operational efficiency. He called upon all personnel to uphold the prestige and professional image of the Telangana and Hyderabad Police, recognized nationwide for their service excellence.

The meeting was attended by Additional CP (Crimes) M. Srinivas, IPS; Joint CP (Law & Order) Tafseer Iqbal, IPS; Joint CP (Admin) J. Parimala Hana Nutan, IPS; DCP (DD) N. Swetha, IPS; DCP (Special Branch) K. Apoorva Rao, IPS; and DCPs from all city zones.(pressmediaofindia.com)
