Hyderabad, Nov 06 (PMI) The Telangana High Court has directed the state government to submit detailed plans and maps of the Metro Rail construction being carried out near heritage buildings in the Old City.
During the hearing of a public interest litigation, the petitioner contended that the Metro work was being executed without the approval of the Archaeology Department and could potentially damage the historic structures.
The government’s counsel clarified that the construction posed no threat to any heritage sites and was essential for the overall development of the Old City.
The court has adjourned the hearing to November 18. (pressmediaofindia.com)
