Mohammed Faiyaz and Samreen Begum were previously married but later got divorced.
Hyderabad’Nov 23 (PMINEWS) In a bizarre attempt to win their families’ approval, a former couple from Hyderabad allegedly kidnapped a four-year-old girl and tried to pass her off as their own child. The Golconda police later arrested the duo and safely reunited the child with her family within 24 hours of the complaint.
Police identified the accused as Mohammed Faiyaz, 24, and Samreen Begum, 22. The two had been married earlier but later divorced, after which Faiyaz remarried. Despite this, Faiyaz and Samreen recently rekindled their relationship, drawing strong opposition from Faiyaz’s family.
To persuade his family to accept their relationship, the pair allegedly devised a plan to abduct a child and claim parenthood. On November 21, they carried out the plot in Kancha, Golconda, abducting four-year-old Safiya Begum while she was returning from her grandmother’s house. They reportedly took the child in an auto-rickshaw and brought her to Faiyaz’s residence.
When Safiya went missing, her mother, Nuzath Fatima, launched a frantic search and then filed a police complaint. Investigators analyzed CCTV footage from the area, tracked down the auto using its number plate, and traced the abductors, leading to the child’s rescue.(pressmediaofindia.com)
