Hyderabad Businessman Arrested for Illegal Pistol Possession; Suppliers Abscond

The arrest occurred after authorities discovered the suspect in possession of a 0.7 mm country-made pistol.

Hyderabad, Jan 2nd, 2026 (PMI) Hyderabad police have arrested a businessman from the Old City for illegally possessing a country-made pistol. The accused has been identified as 29-year-old Amjad Khan, a Charminar-based businessman who recently returned from Saudi Arabia.

According to the police, the arrest was made on Wednesday, December 31, after officers found Khan in possession of a 0.7 mm country-made pistol. Investigations revealed that the weapon was allegedly procured several months ago from Madhya Pradesh through intermediaries for ₹80,000.

Police officials stated that the pistol was reportedly kept to intimidate the public. Further inquiry led to the identification of two other individuals involved in supplying the weapon. They have been identified as Avinash, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, and Amith, a resident of BHEL, Hyderabad.

Both suspects are currently absconding, and police teams have launched a search operation to trace and arrest them.(pressmediaofindia,com)
