Hyderabad, An indoor stadium for Badminton Court was constructed at Sripuram Colony, Moosarambagh under MPLADS with contribution of Rs 60 lakh from Hyderabad MP Asad uddin Owaisi.
The stadium was constructed by Panchayat Raj Department with a plinth area of 441 Sq.Mtr. But the structure was not utilized for the purpose of sports for which it was built, but instead it was utilized by the local associations for various other activities.
Malakpet MLA Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala, along with area Corporator inspected the stadium and stressed the need to immediately provide all facilities required for putting the indoor stadium in proper use for Badminton Courts only. Based on the representation of the MLA, subsequently in order to utilise the existing Indoor Stadium for playing Badminton, following works have been taken up.
Providing Wooden Flooring for a carpet area of 400 Sq Mtr; Laying of CC Road, providing Footpath with Paver Blocks, providing MS Gate, Painting and coloring to the whole Stadium., Development of greenery around the Stadium. , Providing Electrical Lights in the Stadium., Providing 2 No.s of Badminton Courts with fixing of MS Poles, Nets and the required playing material. The expenditure incurred for taking up all works is Rs 60 lakh from the GHMC funds and with this the total expenditure incurred including the cost of the stadium is Rs 1.20 crore.
