Two accused in possession of drugs arrested by Patancheru police. Police received specific information that drugs were being sold in the run-up to the New Year celebrations. The police have seized the drugs after conducting raids.

As the New Year celebrations approach, drug smugglers are trying various ways to supply drugs to Hyderabad from Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore, while drug peddlers are trying to sell them to customers and make profits. Drug peddlers are operating drug rackets in Hyderabad through new routes, thinking that selling drugs to this community will not arouse suspicion. These drug peddlers are trying to get close to that community by introducing themselves to some of the groups. In order to sell drugs to the general public, they have to introduce themselves to people who come to pubs, bars, and various types of events and sell the drugs they have. Both groups feel that if they want drugs for the New Year celebrations, they should move forward with their plans from now on. Recently, the Teenab and Nampally police caught a man named Amir trying to bring MDMA drugs from Mumbai and sell them to the LGBTQ community.
