Hyderabad, The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to Telangana State Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Sharma, over allegations of illegal detention and torture of persons belonging to Scheduled Caste and other backward communities from Nerella village in Sircilla Rajanna district of the State based on the complaint and media reports.
According to TPCC official spokesperson Dasoju Sravan, the Commission observed that the allegations raise a serious issue of human rights violation of the victims. Accordingly, the DGP has been directed to conduct a fair and independent inquiry into the matter and submit a report within four weeks.
