Houses sites for Journalists after SC verdict: Harish

Hyderabad  : Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said the Telangana Government will take a decision on the house sites for journalists soon after delivery of Supreme Court verdict.

Harish Rao inaugurated newly-built office building for Telangana Union of Working Journalists at Adarsh Nagar along with Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy, Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, MLA Srinivas Goud, DGP Anurag Sharma, CP Mahender Reddy and some journalists.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said the State government would provide house sites to all the journalists in the State besides keeping the promises for their cause. He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is a role model for the country to implement the best welfare schemes by setting up Rs 100 crore fund for their welfare. The scribes, he said, are playing key role for society development and shoulder responsibility to bridge the gap between the government and the people.

Lakshma Reddy said the government was making efforts for the welfare of the journalists. “We will launch wellness centers for the journalists in all the districts. Allam Naryaana said health cards will be given to non-accredited journalists too. The State government has allotted Rs 60 crore for welfare of the scribes, he added.
