Gadwala’April’22 (PMI) Police resorted to violence during the inter-state Bandalagudu competitions being held on the occasion of Digambara Swamy Jatara in Balgera village of Gattu mandal in the district. The police placed Basu Hanmanth Naidu, the BRS in-charge of the Gadwala constituency where the competitions are being held, under house arrest at his home. Following his arrest, a large number of party leaders and supporters gathered, leading to a slight tension.
Hanumanth Naidu questioned the police, asking why they were putting people under house arrest if farmers were celebrating Brahmotsavam in the village. He lamented that the fraudulent Congress government could not continue to rule the people with illegal house arrests. He said that it is not right for the Congress government to stop the Banda Lagadu competitions organized under the auspices of BRS for the happiness of the farmers, as the Congress government is unable to help them.
Break for Banda Lagadu competitions
After receiving orders from the district police officers that Banda Lagadu competitions should not be held under any circumstances, the police were deployed on a large scale under the command of Gattu SI KT Mallesh. The district police high-ranking officials decided that the competitions should not be held anywhere in the district.
