Hyderabad, Nov 9(Crime Bureau-PMI) A shocking incident has come to light in Hyderabad, where a police Home Guard was caught smuggling ganja in his own vehicle. The Excise Special Task Force (STF) seized 15.33 kilograms of ganja, valued at around ₹7.5 lakh, during a surprise vehicle inspection near Ramoji Film City on Saturday morning.

Officials said the accused, Neelambar Milkan, a Home Guard, had allegedly entered into an agreement with Umakanth, a resident of Malkangiri district in Odisha, to transport the contraband to Hyderabad.

During the search, the team initially found nothing suspicious. However, upon a closer examination of the vehicle, the officers dismantled the spare tire and discovered four packets of ganja cleverly hidden inside.

The Excise Department has registered a case and taken the accused into custody. Further investigation is underway to trace other individuals involved in the smuggling network. (pressmediaofindia.com)
