Hyderabad, Aug.15 (PMI): Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with nationalistic fervor at Metro Rail Bhavan, Rasoolpura today. HMRL MD NVS Reddy unfurled the national flag and recalled the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters, who had participated in freedom movement.
NVS Reddy said Hyderabad Metro Rail project with its financial and engineering innovation has already won more than 75 national and international Awards. He said the reversal facility at Hitec city has been completed in all respects and that the frequency of trains will be increased to and from Hitec City in all directions in a few days from now. He also stated that works up to Raidurg (Mindspace Jn station) are also nearing completion and trial runs will start on the section between Hitec city and Raidurg stations.
On Wednesday, a new record was created with 3.06 lakh passengers travelling by Metro trains and Metro stations experiencing 3.22 lakh footfalls, he added. HMRL Chief Electrical Engineer DVS Raju, Chief Project Manager Anand Mohan, Superintending Engineer M. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, GM (Works), BN Rajeswar, DCP, A. Balakrishna, Krishna Moorthy, Louis Berger and others participated in the celebrations.
