Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy along with Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and others conducted aerial survey hovering around Hussainsagar Lake on Tuesday.
The Tank Bund area and surroundings turned into a sea of humanity on the occasion. The city police made elaborate bandobust and tightened security to keep the mischief-mongers at bay. The Ganesh idols reached the lake in orderly manner with the coordination of all departments concerned headed by police. The government had arranged 38 cranes for the purpose.
The police took all possible measures to ensure peaceful immersion of idols. The police installed CC cameras everywhere in the vicinity. The police also kept a strict vigil on the rowdy-sheeters and mischief mongers.
