Hyderabad, March 11 (PMI): The High Court today rejected a petition to give stay on suspension by the Assembly Speake on three BJP MLAs, Raghunandan, Raja Singh and Etala Rajender.
The court heard a petition and declined to pass orders to get video details of suspension and orders to stay.
The High Court directed the Legislature secretary to provide details for full inquiry. The court also adjourned the case for four weeks to conduct a full inquiry. The Speaker suspended three BJP MLAs for entire Budget session for storming the well of podium. The MLAs stormed the podium against the government as there was no speech by Governor on the first day. The BJP leaders moved the court against the suspension and pleaded for stay of suspension.
The court declined to pass orders for cancelling the suspension and to give proceedings in this regard. The BJP members argued that the suspension was against the constitution and legislative procedures. However, Advocate General Prasad argued that the courts cannot intervene in the matters of the Assembly and its affairs. Later, the court posted the case for four weeks for a full inquiry on the issue. (PMI)
